Beer theft leads to chase, threat,
bribe offer, scuffle, arrest

A roundup of unusual and noteworthy items from area police departments:
DAYTON — Sept. 12: A male subject took two, 18-count cases of Budweiser
from the beer cooler at the Shell station, 1415 S. Smithville Road, and left
An employee chased and caught the subject behind 1432 Rosemont.
The subject dropped the beer and continued running while the employee stopped
to pick up the beer. The subject came back and offered to pay the employee $20 to
not call the police.
He then threatened to shoot the employee and added he was getting others to help
The subject hit the employee five times in the head. The employee tripped the
subject and pinned him on the ground until police arrived.
